Looking on the bright side

Looking on the bright side

Yellow is used to find warmth and radiant energy. It helps with flexibility of thought, self-awareness of mind, self-control of body and keeping your own personal power. Yellow helps us with efficiency, organization and a sense of humor.

Yellow expresses intellect and logic by helping us focus. Yellow enhances concentration and is believed to stimulate the metabolism.

Cheerful, sunny yellow is an attention-getter. It is considered an optimistic color.

Yellow is associated with our power center, the Solar Plexus, which is the biggest nerve center outside of the brain. It is from here that we move forward. It is from this center that we discern the right information. It is our center of intuition or “gut feeling”. Yellow is one of the best colors to strengthen the immune system, improving alertness and concentration.

Yellow is the most luminous of all the colors of the light spectrum. It’s the color that captures our attention more than any other. Autumn leaves, yellow flowers, lemons, bananas and other yellow fruit all contain carotenoids. These yellow and red organic pigments are found in plants and some other photosynthetic organisms. Yellow is the most visible color and is particularly attractive to birds and insects. It is the color of straw and the rich fields of waving wheat, all kissed by a yellow sun.

In almost every culture, yellow represents sunshine, happiness, joy and warmth. Yellow is the color most often associated with the deities in many religions. This golden light and association to the sun, often makes people think of yellow as a spiritual color. Yellow means courage and nobility in Japan. Buddhist monks wear saffron yellow robes and in many Middle Eastern countries, yellow represents golden prosperity. To Native Americans, yellow is the symbol for unconditional love. The golden yellow halo is what is often portrayed over the heads of angels and saints.
